Carson Chandler
Performance Coach
Carson was born and raised in San Diego and attended St. Augustine High School before moving to Pullman, Washington. While in Pullman, Carson attended Washington State University for his Bachelor’s Degree, he was a captain and Vice President of the men’s volleyball team, as well as a research assistant in the Psychology of Physical Activity laboratory.
After earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology in 2019, he moved back to San Diego to continue his education and pursue a career in Physical Therapy. Carson’s passion for athletics and movement of the human body came from his many years of playing competitive soccer and volleyball during high school and college. After sustaining a knee injury playing soccer, he underwent surgery and 6 months of physical therapy which sparked his interest in finding a career in the field. Carson’s first experience at RU was as a patient for his knee and then quickly joined the team as a student volunteer following his recovery. He has been working as a physical therapy aide in La Mesa for the past couple of years and has just recently joined the Fit Societe team as a Performance Coach. Carson has learned from Rehab United about the importance of treating the whole body and finding the root cause of a patient’s issues rather than just treating the symptoms. He aims to understand a patient’s/client’s long-term goals with therapy or training and to incorporate his knowledge of Functional Movement to restore quality of life and make exercising more enjoyable for everyone.
You can find Carson wandering around saying hi to everyone with a cup of coffee in his hand at all times.
